ABOUT ME

My name is Victoria Beasley Carboni. I am currently in the Adult Education master's program at Auburn University and serving as a graduate research assistant. In May of 2016, I graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. in public relations and minor in philanthropy and nonprofit organizations. Out of college, I began working with the East Alabama Medical Center Foundation as the Foundation Assistant, I later assumed the role of Volunteer Coordinator. As Volunteer Coordinator, I was over the Auxiliary and the college and teenage volunteer programs, as well as, the HERO Campaign and helped with events and social media for the Foundation. After two years at EAMC, I accepted a position at Holland Homes, LLC. as the Executive Assistant to the owner, where I learned about construction while making the office and schedules more organized. After work and on the weekends, you can find me at any and all Auburn University sporting events or heading down to my happy place on 30A with my husband.

Education

Auburn University

In the fall of 2012, I started my college career at Auburn University. Four years later, I became an Auburn University Alum. May 7, 2016, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations and a minor in philanthropy and nonprofit organizations.

Public Relations

I chose to major in public relations at the end of my freshman year at Auburn University. Communicating, organization and writing have always been something I have enjoyed doing. I was accepted into the School of Communication and Journalism in the spring of 2014.

Philanthropy and Nonprofit Organizations

One of my passions in life has always been serving others in a way that not only benefits them but changes my life as well. When I heard about this minor I knew I wanted to be a part of it.

Auburn University

January 2020, I began taking classes to gain my master's degree in Adult Education from Auburn University, a step in reaching a personal career goal. In December 2021, I achieved that goal and was able to graduate from Auburn (again).

Adult Education

I was accepted into the Adult Education master's program at Auburn University in October of 2019. I started this program because of my passion for education, helping others and continuing my professional development.

Skills

Social Media

For two years I was in charge of all social media for the EAMC Foundation. This includes creating and posting content for Facebook and Instagram. These posts were about daily activities at the hospital or promoting for the events throughout the year. Throughout college I served as a public relations intern at East Alabama Youth for Christ, I was required to update social media outlets. And while working with Evan and Co., I helped create social media posts and blog posts. Social media outlets I have worked with include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest.

Writing

While working for the EAMC Foundation, I wrote dozens of newsletters for the Auxiliary, newspaper articles about donations, upcoming events and other hospital-related news. I have also completed multiple writing courses. Because of these courses and my internship with Auburn Magazine, I have been taught and trained to write in AP Style. I have been taught the writing techniques for press releases, news articles, blogs and social media.

Planning

Because of my previous and current career opportunities, I am skilled in world of event planning. Not only can I efficiently and effectively maintain a budget, I also have experience in planning events of all sizes from start to finish. I have successfully planned multiple Holland Homes office parties, Auxiliary luncheons, fundraisers and other EAMC Foundation events.
